So...It's been a while since I've updated this...huh?
A year, right?
I suppose this is as good a time as any to start posting journals again XD What, with this whole "tell us your devaintART story!" for dA's 14th birthday and all, i think a journal is fitting! which is kinda funny that it's their 14th, cause my dA story sorta begins with mine. Almost...
It's been 7 amazing years that I've been on dA. I started out as PrinceVegetasLover in October of 2007. I didn't know much of anything, i had only just started taking classes in comics, and i mostly did fanfiction. I knew i loved to draw and write though, and at the time i was between wanting to pursue being an author, or an artist.
When i discovered deviantART and its vast DBZ (among other fandoms) community, i was in love. I instantly started meeting people who would become life long friends, such as VeggieGirl15
, and more. When things got dark over the next few years, i always had dA and my friends here to keep me together.
That April (2008), my 14th birthday rolled around (coincidence! XD) and after having discovered its existence on dA, i wanted nothing more than a graphic tablet. So, i got a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, and i was hooked.
I entered high school that fall, and really started to get serious about my art. As freshman year and 2009 came and went, i had developed a serious sketchbook habit, and work was flying out of my hands and onto dA. i got very close to my high school art teachers, and had decided that, more than anything, i wanted to pursue a career in art come my graduation from high school.
Years went by: sophomore, junior, and senior year. Things changed all around me, relationships changed, and i grew up. My art did too, and when it came time to apply to college, i knew i wanted nothing more than to get a degree in the art of comics. Dragonball Z, other manga and anime, video games, and yes - deviantART, had all backed and inspired me to get to that point. Graduation came and went, and i left in Fall 2012 for Savannah College of Art and Design.
Since becoming a college student, my art has saw a progression that it hadn't seen in some years in high school (those dark years, if you recall i mentioned) and my deviantART saw one too. I had since transferred to this account, StarryKnightStudio, in order to display myself as a professional, and the feedback i've been receiving is nothing short of wonderful. Watchers - new and old - you've been THE BEST support i could ask for. Many have left deviantArt, and it may not always be the most professional of places to be...but i could never leave. This place is home, it has taken me from a dumb little 13 year old with an affinity for Vegeta and not much else, to a sophisticated 20 year old artist with big plans on the horizon. dA is a home that deserves to see my profession through: and i plan on sticking it out here for you all, and add to my deviantART story another 14 years! And beyond
SO! going into my *gasp* junior year of college and my soon to be 8th year of deviantART...let's see what we have in store, shall we? For now, have a sappy little timeline of art from what i can scrounge left on the internet to go along with my sappy little story AND FOR ANY OF YOU who think that you aren't good enough, will never get better, and want to give up? TAKE THIS AS PROOF. Proof that yes, you WILL get better, and YES, you ARE good, and will only get better. you have to start somewhere, and all you can do is keep practicing: that's what i do every day <32007 2008 2008 20092009 20102010 20112011 20122013 20132014 2014
